Area of ​​Concentration / Lines of Research

 
 
The PPGPROM Professional Masters in Music course comprises the following areas, with their respective lines:
 

1) Area of ​​Musical Creation - Interpretation:

Focused on training professionals in the areas of instrumental and vocal performance, as well as conducting instrumental and vocal ensembles.
This Area consists of the following Lines of Professional Practice:
 
  • Musician Formation Line: This line aims at the continuing education of professionals specialized in advanced musical practices that transform procedures in musical interpretive activities, encompassing the individual domain of the expressive medium (specific instrument, voice, conducting, etc.), guided experience collective practice, as well as training in auxiliary activities in the construction of a career as a musical interpreter.
  • Line of Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy: This line aims at the continuing education of professionals specialized in advanced and transformative teaching practices to act, specifically, through the practice of teaching musical instruments or singing, in collective, individual or remote modalities, in projects of Music Education belonging to basic education, diverse communities or the University itself. This line is shared with the Music Education Area.
  • Special Line of High Orchestral Performance (created in 2015) : This line aims at the continuing education of professionals specialized in advanced musical practices and transformative procedures in musical interpretive activities, with special emphasis on applied professional research developed in professional environments of high symphony orchestras quality. Participation in this line is reserved for Master's students who can prove the institutional endorsement of high quality symphony orchestras.

2) Music Education Area:

 
Focused on knowledge transmission processes in music in formal, non-formal and mixed environments.
This Area consists of the following Lines of Professional Practice:
  • Line of Formation of the Music Educator: This line aims at the continued formation of professionals specialized in advanced and transforming teaching practices in formal, non-formal and mixed contexts.
  • Line of Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy: This line aims at the continuing education of professionals specialized in advanced and transformative teaching practices to act, specifically, through the practice of teaching musical instruments or singing, in collective, individual or remote modalities, in projects of Music Education belonging to basic education, diverse communities or the University itself. This line is shared with the Music Creation-Interpretation Area.
